Male US Marines tried their hands at getting female Marines’ hair into the iconic “sock bun”- and it wasn’t as easy as they thought it was.
The video, which was likely made for fun by Marine Corps Installation Pacific, shows several male Marines attempting to do a unique Marine hairstyle, which involves wrapping the hair in a sock.
The Okinawa-based Marines had varying degrees of success, with the most successful -a Staff Sergeant- attributing his skills to time spent doing his daughter’s hair.
“I find myself to be a little bit of a professional,” he jokes.
The entire process is both time-consuming and utilizes a variety of brushes, ties and hair adhesives.
While the majority of female Marines were somewhat critical of their hair-dos, they admitted that their male counterparts certainly tried their best.
