A veteran who served in Afghanistan was shocked to find the vandalism that occurred at his home just before Memorial Day weekend.
Adam Douglas arrived at his home in Teme, Arizona for Memorial Day weekend and quickly realized his American flag was missing.
Flying a flag in front of his home means to the proud Army veteran who most recently served as an officer in Afghanistan in 2019.
But with the help of his Ring camera, he found out what happened to his flag.
Camera footage from May 26th shows a man approaching Douglas’ home and attempting to light his flag on fire with a lighter.
“I could hear the clicks on the video…And they had it up to the flag trying to set the flag on fire,” Douglas told Fox 10.
“Memorial Day weekend, we’ve had people die while I was over there as well,” he said. “It means a lot, I want to make sure that flag is out on Memorial Day weekend. To have it stolen is… I just couldn’t understand it.”
The Tempe Police Department is investigating the incident.
