One of the men responsible for the 2014 beating death of a U.S. Marine in Pennsylvania, will be going to prison for up to 30 years.
22-year-old Oliver Trizarri has pleaded guilty in connection with the murder of Corey Samuels –a Marine vet who served three tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan before settling in Coaldale, Pennsylvania.
According to WFMZ, Trizarri has agreed to testify against his co-defendant, 18-year old Stanley Kralik, in exchange for the withdrawal of a first-degree murder charge. Trizarri plead guilty to third-degree murder and conspiracy in Schuylkill County Court on Friday. Under the terms of the plea agreement, Trizarri is to serve 15 to 30 years in prison.
Prosecutors say he and Kralik lured Samuels into the woods in January 2014, where they carried out a revenge killing. According to the two men, Samuels had sexually assaulted one of their female friends.
Police say they beat and choked Samuels, struck his head with a shovel, then buried his body under snow in the woods. Samuels’ remains were not discovered until early September.
Kralik, who was 17 at the time of the murder, will be tried as an adult.
