A video of two Army recruiters being verbally assaulted has gone viral online -with many people shocked to see soldiers being treated in such a manner.

The two recruiters were shopping at a Walmart in Galleria, TX when another shopper approached them two Army staff sergeants (identified as recruiters by the recruiting badges on their uniforms) to call them “trash.”

“America is messed up because of y’all. Y’all are over there in other folks’ business and y’all don’t have any rights, y’all ain’t nothing but killers,” the customer said to the soldiers.

A senior citizen came to the soldiers’ defense, shaking their hands and thanking them for their service.

“If you do feel like America is not the country for you or whatever, then that’s your right, your prerogative, you can do whatever you want, that’s (why) I put my uniform on,” said one of the soldiers after the confrontation.

While many viewers of the video were surprised to see the soldier’s treated with disrespect, an Army recruiter says this is not an isolated incident.

“I’ve been called a baby killer, been spit on, and called trash,” says one Army recruiter.

In a statement, Walmart said, “We strive to maintain a safe environment and create an enjoyable shopping experience for every customer.”
