Denis Cullen Jr., 23, is facing charges of second-degree murder in the death of Elizabeth Cullen.
Elizabeth Cullen was the daughter of the late Maj. Gen. George William Casey Sr., who was killed in a helicopter crash in Vietnam in July 1970, and sister of former Army Chief of Staff, Gen. George Casey Jr..

Police in New York’s Suffolk County believe she was intentionally drowned in their backyard pool in Cold Spring Harbor. Prosecutors say Cullen admitted to killing his mother to detectives, adding that he put his mother in a headlock, dragged her towards the pool and then held her under the water until she died, according to Daily Mail.

When police arrived, they say they found 63-year-old Cullen dead near her backyard swimming pool.
Police say Denis Cullen and his mother had a fight about him not taking his psychiatric medication. Denis Cullen allegedly murdered her during the argument.
