Lt. Jack McCain and his wife Renee – a black Air Force Reserve officer – want the world to know that for them– love wins. Along with some stunning photos they tweeted out from their wedding day, and one of the couple in uniform – they wanted to send a message to all “ignorant racists”.
The usually low-profile son of Senator John McCain decided to go public with his views on a recent Old Navy ad — featuring an interracial couple and their mixed child.
McCain, a designated MH-60 Seahawk pilot, lashed out at people on social media who were blasting the ad under the hashtag, “white genocide”.
His lovely wife also took to Twitter to say proudly that she’d just purchased something at Old Navy over the weekend, for herself and her husband.
McCain told Navy Times in an email: “If there is one result I could hope for out of all of this furor, it would be helping to ensure that intolerance has no place in service, or in our national discourse.”
Jack is one of John McCain’s seven children. He graduated from the Naval Academy in 2009 and is currently earning a master’s degree from Georgetown University.
