ISIS video highlights Obama’s “no boots on ground” before executing man with anti-aircraft gun

A video, allegedly released by ISIS, targets the Obama administration for their involvement in Iraq and Syria.  ISIS claims to have a list of everyone who has joined the New Syrian Army and executes* dozens of them who have been captured -in the video.

At the beginning of last month, the Pentagon announced it would abandon its program to “train-and-equip” rebels in Syria.  The program initially committed $500 million dollars to train 15,000 fighters within three years.

The video, titled “Allah will be sufficient for you against them 2,” begins with audio and images of President Barack Obama saying, “For the first time in nine years, there are no Americans fighting in Iraq… the Americans that have deployed to Iraq do not and will not have a combat mission.”

In an effort to contradict President Obama’s statements, the video shows footage and images of Army paratroopers, Army Generals Lloyd James Austin, Joseph Leonard Votel, Michael Nagata, and Christopher Burns.

Army Maj. Gen. Michael Nagata, commander of U.S. special operations forces in the Middle East, is stepping down from his position which included overseeing the Syrian training program that ultimately produced only a few dozen fighters, according to the New York Times.

Officials said he was overdue for switching assignment as part of a regular senior officer rotation. He had already spent two years in the position and is expected to be promoted to a new counter terrorism position.

*Some of the video has been removed because it contained alleged recorded conversations between Syrians -who are executed in the video- and US operatives organizing airstrikes.
