In a new shakeup of incentive offers, Home Depot has capped the amount one can save using their military & veterans discount.
While the big orange hardware company has expanded beyond active-duty troops, military retirees and their dependents and now caters to veterans as well, many local stores across the country had already honored VA ID cards.
The discount will require consumers to create an account on their website/in-store app, and verify their service status for purchases.
According to Military.com, the new 10% discount will be “available for eligible purchases up to a $400 maximum annual discount and can be used every day throughout the year.”
Lowe’s does not specify a cutoff number for their %10 discount, though the article announcing the veteran-friendly Home Depot military discount stated that HD now “closely matches.”
Prior to the change, veterans going to Home Depot for 10% off were only [officially] permitted to use it on Memorial Day, July 4, and Veterans Day.
