Fort Hood soldier reported dead, found in barracks

Fort Hood officials have released the name of a deceased US Army soldier who was found unresponsive in his barracks room last Friday.

24 year-old Specialist Dion Shannon Servant of Maywood, Illinois was found in his barracks room on August 19th, according to a Fort Hood press release.

Servant entered active duty service in June of 2014 as a Petroleum Supply Specialist and was assigned to 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division since December of 2014.

Servant’s awards and decorations included the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.

The circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation.
