The garrison commander at Fort Benning, Georgia has been relieved of his duties.
WVTM reported Col. Alexis Rivera Espada had been in the role of garrison commander for one year but was removed for “loss of trust and confidence.”
No other details were announced.
LTC Yolanda Edwards was named the new Garrison Commander.
Fort Benning, located just across the Alabama line, is home to some 47,500 soldiers and civilians.
