A US Army veteran and Louisiana State Police Cadet is now facing some serious charges after he allegedly transmitted nude photos of a former coworker without consent in an attempt to blackmail her.

26-year-old Jimmy Kassis was dropped by the LSP’s training program after the US Army informed the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations Special Victims Unit that one of their recruits had attempted to blackmail a former Army colleague with lewd photos.

According to Fox8, Kassis “allegedly mailed nude images of the victim” to the victim’s commanding Army general and, according to another source, he also intended to send the photos to the victim’s other “employer.”

Upon learning about the photos, the Louisiana State Police obtained and executed search warrants on Kassis’ phone and residence, snatching up several electronic devices.

On August 6, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Kassis, charging him with non-consensual disclosure of a private image.f

Unfortunately for Louisiana State Police, Kassis had fled the state, and was arrested near the end of the month in Michigan. He was extradited back to Louisiana on September 14th, courtesy of the Michigan State Police.

Since being returned to the Cajun state, Kassis has since been booked in the Lafourche Parish prison for his outstanding warrant.
