First look at Marine F-35B “BRRRT,” pathetic compared to A-10

The US Marines carried out their first successful test of the new F-35B’s GAU-22 gun pod- and man, is it pitiful.

Uttering a miniaturized “brrrrt” that would make even it’s lesser-armed F/A-18 counterparts laugh, the 25mm modular gun pod -while accurate in testing- can completely deplete its tiny 220-round ammo capacity in less than 4 seconds.

While US Defense officials say that the gun’s smaller ammo capacity might raise some eyebrows, it is justifiable because the F-35 will rely on precise strikes and quick time on target to pave the way for legacy aircraft such as the F-15 and F-16, which will be used as “armada” planes to swarm what is left of the enemy’s defenses.

The A-10 -whose 30mm cannon can hold 1,350 rounds- is ideal for close air support, but only in “uncontested airspace” where SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses) and CAP (Combat Air Patrols) overwatch will magically be nonexistent for the first time since the Vietnam War.
