
The Army is searching for a man who is has been charged with killing his active-duty soldier wife on Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
According to the FBI, Jason Earl Armstrong Jr., 27, killed his wife, Iris Armstrong in their on-base home on July 1st. The Medical Examiner ruled her death was caused by sharp and blunt force injuries, suggesting she was stabbed and beaten, according to the FayObserver.
Iris Armstrong joined the Army in 2012 and was assigned to the 189th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (Superchargers) of the 82nd Airborne Division.
It was not until July 6th -five days after her death- that her body was discovered. According to the FBI, Jason Armstrong was seen using his wife’s debit card shortly after the murder on a surveillance camera.
The FBI did not state where he may be going but said he has ties to Columbia, South Carolina; Atlanta; New Orleans; Houston, Dallas and Amarillo in Texas; Phoenix; and Los Angeles.
They are offering a reward up to $5,000 for information leading directly to his arrest. Anyone with information on his location is asked to call the FBI’s Charlotte office at 704-672-6100.
