Around 15,000 or so people gathered in New York City’s Times Square Friday night to celebrate the new year and were treated to the delight of some rather special performances.

Plenty more tuned into the New Year’s Eve bash from their televisions and watched performances from LL Cool J, Chlöe, Journey and more.

But there’s one performance that blew up online and has folks still talking about it in the new year — the United Service Organizations’ performance.

Since 1941, the USO Show Troupe has provided entertainment to service members across the globe to boost the military’s morale, according to its website. As part of that tradition, the USO Show Troupe puts on an annual NYE performance in Times Sqaure.

This year’s performance garnered quite a reaction online, with some viewers questioning whether the performance was satire or not.

Below, read viewers’ live reactions to the performance.
