Couple arrested for stealing $68k from disabled veteran within their care


A couple in Bartow county, Georgia have been arrested for 133 counts of fraud in connection with the theft of $68,000 from a disabled veteran.

Stacy and Leonardo Yarbrough are caregiver for several group home residents in which they are accused of stealing from.

Bartow County Sherriff deputies said they couple stole $68,000 from the personal bank account of David Apple, who was suffering from paranoid schizophrenia, over a period of months.

Investigators said they spent the money on a diamond ring, new car tires, a trip to Florida, and repairs to the Mercedes vehicle.

Apple has since been put back on his medication and moved to care under the VA.
