Shocking body camera footage related to an officer-involved shooting in Santa Clarita, California, has been released- months after the incident took place.

The shooting took place in an alley on the night of January 12, after an “aggressive trespasser” wearing a US Army physical training jacket began misbehaving at an establishment at the Westfield Valencia Town Center.

When police arrived, 50-year-old suspect, Christopher Lee Mercurio began fighting deputies of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office.

At one point, Mercutio began physically assaulting and cornering a female deputy, who —after several warnings— opened fire on Mercurio.

Both Mercurio and the deputy were taken to the hospital, where Mercurio later died.

According to Fox LA, the deputy was later released from the hospital.

The incident remains under investigation.
