Army veteran credited with busting home burglars

Police in San Antonio, Texas are crediting an Army veteran with stopping two 19-year-old men while they were breaking into homes on Monday evening.

Officers were called after they received multiple burglar alarms notifications in northeast San Antonio, according to KSAT.

Upon their arrival, they noticed a home with a broken window and items missing.  While they were investigating the home another home burglar alarm went off.  A man, who is only being described as an Army veteran, was able to chase the burglars, take pictures of their car and license plate as they fled.

According to police, the photos directly led to the arrest of the suspects.

“We feel with theses arrests we’ve put a stop to a lot, some of the burglaries going on in the area,” said officer Doug Greene. “We can’t thank the neighbor, who spotted these individuals, enough, who gave us a good description and chased those individuals away.”

Police stated they believe the suspects, whose names have not been released, are responsible for other break-ins in the area.
