The spouse of a soldier stationed at Fort Stewart – located forty miles southwest of Savannah, GA – was shot and killed early this morning in Hinesville, Georgia.
Shawn Williams, a 32-year-old Army spouse, was shot multiple times at 2:00 AM during an altercation outside an apartment in Hinesville -the town located at the south entrance to the base.
According to Hinesville Police detectives, Williams was picked up from his home on base and taken to the apartment complex by a friend who lived at the apartment complex where the shooting occurred.
Williams was shot to death shortly after an altercation with a man who is “still at large,” according to WSAV.
Williams was pronounced dead after being transported to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville.
The shooting is still currently under investigation and anyone with information in encouraged to call the Hinesville Police Department at 368-8211.
