Army sergeant killed in targeted attack outside his apartment, police say

A US Army paratrooper in North Carolina was fatally shot outside his Fayetteville apartment, authorities report.

Sgt. Nicholas Bobo, 22, was found dead on apartment complex grounds last Tuesday, having succumbed to gunshot wounds.

Bobo, an automated logistical specialist assigned to the 407th Brigade Support Battalion of the 82nd Airborne Division, was married with one child.

The 82nd Airborne member’s car was also stolen in the incident.

According to the wbtw, authorities do not believe the act was random, and assert that Bobo was targeted.

Army Criminal Investigation Command and the Fayetteville Police Department are currently investigating the incident.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, and his parents.
