An Army National Guard sergeant was arrested for sexual assault in West Texas this week.
On Monday, November 12th, at about 4:10 am, Alpine Police Officers were dispatched to an America’s Best Value for a report of a possible sexual assault.
“Upon investigation of the report, Louis Ontiveros, 30, was arrested for sexual assault of a female, ” police said in a press release.
The woman stated she was throwing up after she had been drinking with others in a hotel room. She said Ontiveros offered to take her back to her room to go to sleep.
But Ontiveros laid her in the bed and started to remove the woman’s clothes and sexually assaulted her before she was able to leave the room, according to CBS7.
She was able to escape the room and knock on the door of a nearby room. After repeatedly knocking and asking to be let in, the man inside the room opened the door to find the woman in the nude saying that Ontiveros had tried to rape her.
Police confirmed that the female is also a soldier stationed in Texas, located roughly 80 miles from the Mexican border, preparing for the arrival of a caravan.
Authorities confirmed to The Daily Beast that the female who called the police was also a “National Guard officer.”
“This is the first incident I am aware of,” Alpine Police Captain Darrell Losoya said. “These national guards are not stationed in our town so we never see them. They have not been disturbing the peace as far as I am concerned.”
