Army lieutenant pokes fun at enlisted soldiers on TikTok

A US Army lieutenant is making a name for herself on the Chinese social media app TikTok, giving insight into the military lifestyle of 2020.

As the US military continues to shift in demographic terms of age, sex and other factors, some born in the era of social media are taking advantage of the ability to reach out to people with short videos, including Jenna Sorenson.

Sorenson, a Wisconsin Army National Guard Medical Services Officer who works for Enterprise Rent-A-Car when not in uniform, has a considerable social media presence, and is by no means camera-shy.

From posting her fitness-conscious physique to the ‘Gram’ to making TikTok videos while showing name and rank on her uniform, Sorenson seems to be your atypical American in Gen Z, at least when it comes to social media habits.

Recently featured on Reddit, the second lieutenant’s TikTok video skills were on full display, causing mixed reactions.

The Department of Defense has discouraged the use of TikTok on personal devices, citing security concerns.
