The U.S. Army has identified the soldier that died during a training accident on Friday.
Sergeant Joel Sanchez, 24, from Vallejo, California died during a vehicle accident that injured five other soldiers in a training area at Fort Bliss.
The other soldiers were treated and have since been released from the hospital.
Sanchez was assigned to Bravo Troop, 6th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division.
Prior to being stationed at Fort Bliss, according to his awards, he spent time in South Korea.
