
The Army has identified the soldier who was found dead in his home on Thursday.
Sgt. Andrew James Washington, an electronic warfare specialist with the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, was found during a welfare check after he failed to report to his place of duty.
Anchorage police and Army Criminal Investigation Command are investigating his death, according to the Army Times.
Washinton joined the Army in North Carolina, in September 2011. After completing his training, he was assigned to Fort Bragg. It was not until May 2017, that he arrived to the 25th Infantry in Alaska. He deployed to Afghanistan with the 4th BCT from September 2017 to May 2018.
