Mullet sporting Army E-7 is selected as an official video gamer for the National Guard

Sergeant First Class Alex England, also known as ttv_iPanik on Twitch TV, serves with the 623rd Field Battalion at Wendell H. Ford Regional Training Center in Greenville, KY

The Department of Defense confirmed that England is an official NGB (National Guard Bureau’s National Esports Team) streamer and his channel, ttv_iPanik, was Twitch March 23, 2020, making him the first Guardsman to receive such a boost.

England is big into gaming and likes to combine his military and personal life into an exciting career opportunity.

“I’m not really great at the games; I’m just really entertaining,” he said. “This helps me get away from the stress of everyday life and allows me to do what I enjoy doing, while connecting with friends I don’t typically get to see.”

England is one of nine Soldiers in the National Guard selected to be on the NGB team, and is supported by both the DoD and his loving family.

When not gaming, he is training Kentucky Guardsmen to be ready for combat.

“As an NCO in the Guard, it can be difficult to make connections with junior Soldiers, so you take advantage of the time you have to build those connections so that they come to trust you with issues,” said England.
