Army combat vet gunned down during mass shooting in Texas

One of the victims of the Odessa shooting was a US Army combat veteran, according to local news sources in Texas.

Kameron Brown was on gruesome display in a video sent to the KWTX newsroom over the weekend, his body slumped over in his red work pickup, shot during the exchange between the gunman and law enforcement.

A veteran of the Afghan conflict, he was employed with Standard Safety & Supply for over a year.

“We are deeply saddened at the loss of a member of our team,” the company said in a statement. “Kameron Brown died tragically as a victim of the senseless and horrifying shootings that occurred in and around Odessa on Saturday. We have been in contact with Kameron’s family to offer our deepest sympathies and support. We ask that the family’s privacy be respected during this most difficult time.”

Brown’s family has requested crowdfunding assistance, and have raised $36,555 out of the $50,000 goal.

The video released to KWTX will likely not make the air.
