(Kansas City, MO) A 73-year-old veteran walked out of his home Saturday morning to find his car windows had been shot out and the tire of another car had been slashed.
Dave Bendelier believes he was targeted for the Donald Trump campaign sign he had displayed in the window of his 1998 Cadillac.
Bendelier said he thinks the vandals used a pellet gun to shoot out the driver-side windows and the rear window of his Cadillac. One of the front tires of an SUV on his property also had one of its front tires slashed.
“Because I had Trump-Pence for president,” he said. “This is coming out of my pocket and all I did was exercise my right to vote.”
He urges others to be careful about what they display in public.
“I can’t believe this is just an isolated incident,” he said. “Why go after an individual or a business?”
Bendelier joked that he would “almost like to put up a bigger sign,” but will be taking it down, according to KSHB.
