The wife of a deceased service member has been accused of capitalizing on her husband’s death for internet clout— though there may be more to the story.
Brooke Grant is the wife of deceased Airman Devon’Jare (DJ) Grant, who reportedly “lost his lifelong battle with mental health” in late 2022. He was 25 years of age.
Born in Baltimore, MD on September 23, 1997, Grant served in the US Air Force Reserves, where he was a civil engineer, known colloquially as a “Dirt Boy,” according to his obituary.
The couple and their children were stationed at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, which is best known for being the place where US Military casualties are sent for mortuary affairs.
“He was an incredible man that loved Brooke fiercely and her kids as his own,” a GoFundMe for the family said of the Airman. “The family is devastated and he will be greatly missed.”
Since his passing, however, Grant’s wife has been particularly active on TikTok in regards to discussing the passing of her husband.
Earlier this year, Mrs. Grant was reportedly told to “stop making dead husband content.”

In response, Mrs. Grant replied in synchronized TikTok fashion, flipping off the camera and saying “no.”
According to a later TikTok, the couple were only married a month before Mr. Grant took his own life.
@its.bjones I love you Devon’Jare. You can rest now ♥️

“Bro forgot to save his game,” one commenter wrote.
“Dang,” another responded. “He really ghosted her.”
Mrs. Grant’s comments to such statements were rather cavalier.
“Bro ghosted me fr [for real],” she replied to one comment.
Mrs. Grant also served in the USAF and was last seen wearing Senior Airman rank in 2022.
