Airman found dead at Holloman Air Force Base identified

Holloman Air Force Base officials have released the name of an airman found dead on base.

The body of 21-year-old Airman 1st Class Nathan Wilson-Ross was discovered in a barracks on base on October 11, according to a HAFB 49th Wing Public Affairs press release.

According to the release, the Office of Special Investigations us continuing their investigation into the unattended death.

49th Wing Public Affairs Director of Media Relations, Arlan Ponder, said no foul play is suspected at this time, according to Alamogordo News.

Wilson-Ross, of San Angelo, Texas, was an F-16 aircraft maintenance specialist assigned to the 54th Fighter Group.

“This is a tragic event that reminds us how precious time can be,” 54th Fighter Group commander Col. James Keen said. “I encourage members of Team Holloman to reach out and support one another through this tragedy.”

Ponder said Wilson-Ross was assigned to Holloman after leaving Aviano Air Base in Italy a year ago.

He is survived by his mother and a brother.
