An Airman has been charged with the murder of a fellow Airman and their children, along with arson and other charges.
Shane Walker was charged on Sunday with murder, arson, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon, in a bizarre case that left three dead.
The victims have been identified as 37-year-old Alla Ausheva, 2-year-old Ivan Walker and 3-year-old Elia Walker.
Ausheva’s body was found with severe head trauma, while the children appeared to have been forcibly drowned. All bodies were located in their Staten Island home, in which a small fire had been set.
Originally born in Russia, Ausheva came to the US on a Green Card lottery and joined the Army National Guard before transferring to the Air National Guard.

Authorities found Walker on Saturday, wandering aimlessly while carrying Ausheva’s military ID and phone. He had reportedly attempted suicide a few hours prior.
According to the Daily Mail, Ausheva’s supervisor found the bodies and reported the house fire, which was quickly extinguished.
Neighbors report that Walker seemed like a normal fellow, and he had allegedly been away from the family for a time.
Walker was charged with 12 counts of murder, three counts of manslaughter, three counts of arson, three counts of criminal poss of a weapon. The US military has joined in the investigation.
