Air Force police officer arrested for armed robbery at a Federal Credit Union

(Hill AFB, Utah) Early this morning, a young Airman at Hill Air Force Base was arrested for the aggravated robbery at a Federal Credit Union on November 10th.

Layton City police detectives arrested 20 year-old Sonny West after locating him in his dorm on base.

A1C West is a entry controller assigned to the 75th Security Forces Squadron which performs law enforcement duties on the base.

According to police, he was taken into custody peacefully and booked into the Davis County Jail.

The robbery happened at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Layton branch of Washington Federal Credit Union, 1840 N. Hill Field Road.

West only got away with a small amount of money according to previously released police statement to the Standard-Examiner.

“Airman West has been removed from any law-enforcement related duties,” said Hill Air Force Base Public Affairs in a released statement.

His Facebook profile lists him as being from Madera, California and having attended Reedley College.
