
A shooting at Offut Air Force base has left an Airman and their spouse dead on Saturday night.
The two were discovered around 8:15 p.m. at Rising View privatized housing area in Bellevue.
Several agencies responded to the community near 36th Street and Vandenberg Avenue, a few miles from the base. Both individuals were confirmed dead shortly after the officials arrived at the scene.
The names of the deceased are being held pending notification of the next of kin.
55th Wing Commander Col. Gavin Marks posted a statement on Facebook, which said, “There was an incident within Rising View tonight, Offutt’s privatized housing area. Emergency responders are on the scene and we can confirm there are two deceased at this time. The situation is under control and there are no safety concerns to residents within Rising View.”
