A police pursuit in Indianapolis led to the death of a young man around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday evening.
Two Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were driving home on Interstate 65 when they spotted a car driving erratically.
They began a pursuit in their unmarked car, reaching speeds over 90 mph but abandoned the pursuit when officers in marked cars took over.
The driver, who was recording the incident on Facebook Live, eventually stopped and attempted to evade officers on foot.
According to WTHR, one officer gave chase, deploying his stun gun – it is not known if it was effective- before being shot at by the driver.
The officer is said to have returned fire, killing the man, who has been identified as Sean Reed, an Air Force veteran.
Police say the officer, who is African American, was the only other person on scene at the time of the shooting besides the deceased.
Investigators say they found found a gun near Reed that does not belong to the officer.
