An Air Force Huey helicopter, used for medical transport, was forced to make an emergency landing at an elementary school in Marland.

Shortly after 10 a.m., the helicopter landed at Gwynn Park Middle School in Brandywine.  The Brandywine fire department responded to the scene.

USAF spokesperson Staff Sgt. Chad Strohmeyer said the helicopter’s transmission warning light came on, and pilots are instructed to land immediately under those circumstances, according to the Associated Press.

A pilot and co-pilot were the only people on board, and no one was injured.

The helicopter was inspected by a Huey maintenance crew and approved to fly the eight miles back to Joint Base Andrews.
