An Air Force aircraft with four crew crashed Thursday evening while attempting to land in South Dakota.

Around 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, an Air Force B-1B Lancer assigned to Ellsworth Air Force Base crashed while attempting to land at the installation, according to the 28th Bomb Wing Public Affairs Office.

While details are limited, all four crew members aboard the aircraft were able to eject before the crash occurred.

According to the Associated Press, the flying conditions in the area were poor at the time of the crash.

The crew encountered low visibility, freezing temperatures, and low clouds, according to automated weather reporting equipment recording airfield conditions.

The aircraft was reportedly on a training mission and the accident will be investigated.
