Air Force Academy is #1 location in state for most Ashley Madison users

These days you can find studies on just about anything — even ones on infidelity.

Following last summer’s hacking of the Ashley Madison cheating website, there was plenty of chatter in military circles about who might be an account holder.

A recent study conducted by found that Colorado had close to 208,000 accounts that were created with the site which brings together playful people who are already involved with someone — but who want to be in another secret relationship.

According to the, 464 accounts were set up by individuals at the Air Force Academy, located right outside Colorado Springs. That’s 12.5% of its overall population, according to

However, the academy says when you figure in all airmen and cadets on the campus, the percentage is much smaller — closer to 6 %.

In July of last year, hackers released more than 15,000 US military and government email addresses associated with Ashley Madison users.  The leaked document only contained a few hundred email addresses linked to official Air Force servers.  The Army and Navy had thousands of linked users; there were 6,788 addresses and 1,665 linked to
