After long search, Danish pop star finds her father – Vietnam War vet living in Louisiana

William Johnson (L), and his daughter, Danish pop star Zindy Laursen.

A Vietnam War veteran discovered he is related to a pop star, thanks to a DNA test.

William Johnson, 71, who saw combat during the early 1970s, conceived with a foreign woman while on leave.

He learned this thanks to a DNA search conducted by his daughter: Denmark superstar Zindy Laursen, who has sold millions of records.

Laursen was thrilled to learn who her father was, having spent nearly three decades.

“I tried so hard to look for him and I was almost at the brink of just giving up,” Laursen said. “I always felt like there was a half of me missing.”

According to WBRZ, Johnson was the first African American police officer in Zachary, Louisiana, and eventually retired.

Johnson is excited to meet his daughter in January.

“When she comes here I’m going to let her sit on my lap,” Johnson said. “That’s my baby. Because she is my angel. God sent her to me.”
