A US Marine was shot while driving in Ohio early Thursday morning, resulting in his vehicle crashing into a building.
Coming back from a Riff Raff concert at the Grog Shop venue in Cleveland, Marine Josh Bowers was shot multiple times before he lost control of his vehicle, crashing through the front doors of a vacant building near the Cleveland State University campus.
Bowers’ mother, Dawn Macaluso, took to social media and asked for anyone with information concerning the murder to come forward.
“My son Josh Bowers…was taken from us by a cold blooded killer in Cleveland Ohio after attending concert at The Grog Shop.” she wrote. “Josh had VIP tickets to a Riff Raff concert and they were the last ones to see him alive.”
Bowers was relatively new to the US Marines, with photos on his social media profile depicting him as a Private First Class dated as recently as June of 2017.
According to Cleveland.com, Bowers’ truck was towed from the building and is being examined as evidence, with Cleveland Police still unsure why the young Marine was murdered.
Outside of being a Marine, Bowers enjoyed fishing, riding on ATVs and was frequently pictured with what appears to be his dog. He appeared to be close to his family, including his mother and sister.
Bowers’ family is asking that anyone with information contact CPD Detective Fischbach, who can be called at 216-623-6214 or emailed at Kfischbach@city.cleveland.oh.us.
