An Airman in North Dakota is seeking to have a renowned R&B singer and actress Brandy Norwood join him at the Air Force Ball.
Stationed at Minot, 19-year-old Airman First Class Caleb Hanley created a video called “Airman Invites Brandy to The Air Force Ball” in hopes that the R&B singer and former star of TV’s Moesha would join him.
Dressed in a suit, Hanley laid out convincing(?) reasons as to why the 39-year-old should be his date.
“You’re 5’7, I’m 5’7,” he began. “You write R&B music, I love R&B music.”
His friends say it’s a long shot, but Hanley is undeterred, as he still had a lot of fun making the video.
The Airman then shows a clip of himself laying down rhymes- a solid effort, though it is hard to determine whether or not he’s actually good at it.
For those not in the know, Brandy (who was around twenty when Hanley was born) was a big hit in the 1990s. Throughout her career, she has sold over 30 million records, making her one of the best female artists of all time. She’s been awarded a Grammy Award, seven Billboard Music Awards, and an American Music Award.
For Hanley, however, age makes no difference for a true fan- at an Air Force base known for B-52 bombers, absent-minded security forces and missing munitions, he’s ready to make fireworks… Provided Brandy is willing to find a way to North Dakota.
Good luck with that, Hanley. Good luck with that.
