Fort Hood Soldier found dead in home identified

Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who was found unresponsive in his residence Oct. 7 in Copperas Cove, Texas.

Spc. Bradley Michael Acker, 25, whose home of record is listed as Canandaigua, New York, entered active-duty military service in October 2010 as an aircraft power plant repairer.

Acker was assigned to the 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas, since October 2014.

Acker’s awards and decorations include the Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War On Terrorism Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.

The incident is under investigation by the Copperas Cove Police Department.
